As a Commercial Analyst you will deliver insightful analysis and recommendations aiming at driving business growth and enhancing profitability. This role requires close collaboration with various business units to identify opportunities, monitor competitive activities, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
As a Commercial Analyst your tasks will include the following:
- Perform monthly analysis of business performance, and provide insights into commercial drivers, trends and patterns, as well as outlook into the future;
- Budgeting of volumes and revenues, analyzing movements versus prior year and modelling various scenarios;
- Perform financial and commercial assessment of new investment opportunities, including opportunity sizing, market and competitor analysis, business option evaluation and risk assessment;
- Formulate and test commercial hypotheses using best practice management consulting toolkits;
- Develop and maintain financial models within a business intelligence ecosystem to support decision-making related to pricing, promotions, and sales performance;
- Present results in a structured and concise way, cutting through the “noise” and translating complex analysis into insightful business recommendations;
- Create reports (using Power BI and Excel) reflecting metrics and project status, objectives and barriers and conduct analyses in driving data-driven business decisions;
- Assess impact and provide recommendations on pricing strategies and tactical price initiatives;
- Work with the key business units and cross-functional teams such as marketing and product development to identify and resolve issues affecting business performance;
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes;
- Perform ad-hoc analyses as required to support various business needs.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing or a related field;
- Proven experience in top-tier consultancy, commercial finance or business partnering role, ideally in a data-rich environment;
- 1 year of financial modelling and data analysis experience;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to transform data into actionable insights;
- Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modeling using Python and R would be considered as assets;
- Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable;
- Excellent analytical skills and a structured approach in delivering output;
- Excellent command of the English Language (Level C2);
- Commercial acumen and critical thinking built-up through hands-on similar experience;
- Management consulting mindset: Able to present complex data in a clear, succinct manner to provide actionable commercial insights;
- Enthusiastic and proactive team player;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
