Senior Operations Officer (Athens)

THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Operations Officer to join our factoring team in Athens. As a Senior Operations Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational efficiency of the company's financial services. The successful candidate will be a diligent individual with a passion for financial services and enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• In charge of collections monitoring, handling and processing including post dated cheque payments
• Sales ledger reconciliation (supplier and buyer side)
• Communicate with suppliers and buyers to create and maintain strong relationships
• Contact buyers to verify receivables open balances and enquire about overdue payments
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts
• Investigate historical data for each debt
• Take actions to encourage timely debt payments
• Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status
• Monitoring and handling of bad debt accounts according to company's policy

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a financial services setting (operations, collections, accounting dept)
• Solid business sense
• Organizational skills and ability to coordinate teams
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Customer-oriented attitude and ability to communicate and connect with people
• Problem solving mindset and enthusiasm for innovation
• Self motivator
• Proficient in MS Office applications and general comfort with IT systems
• Experience in the factoring sector and working familiarity with banking and factoring software will be considered a strong plus
