As a Chartering Manager , your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and securing appropriate vessels to transport the company’s existing cargoes, ensuring an optimal match between cargo requirements and vessel capabilities.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, and other industry stakeholders to ensure access to a broad range of vessel options.
• Monitoring market conditions and analyzing trends to make informed decisions on vessel selection.
• Negotiating charter party terms and conditions to secure favorable rates and terms for the company and its clients.
• Coordinating with operations and logistics teams to ensure vessels meet all technical and operational requirements for the cargo.
• Handling post-fixture activities, including monitoring voyage performance, addressing claims, and ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
• Preparing regular reports on market trends, vessel availability, and chartering activities for senior management.
• Assisting in budgeting and forecasting, providing insights into potential cost efficiencies and revenue streams.
• Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote business development and maintain industry connections.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements.

The ideal candidate for the position of Chartering Manager will be expected to possess the following:

• Expertise in Panamax Size and Dry Cargo.
• Extensive experience in chartering within the shipping industry.
• In-Depth Market Knowledge: Possessing comprehensive knowledge of the global shipping market, including freight rates, market trends, and chartering contracts (e.g., voyage charter, time charter).
• Strong Negotiation Skills. Proven track record of successfully securing vessels through effective negotiations.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; additional languages are advantageous.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
• Ability to Work Under Pressure. Capable of making decisions quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Organizational and Time Management Skills
• Proficiency in Shipping Software: Skilled in relevant shipping software and IT systems.
