Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at VesselΒot, you will play a pivotal role in our Software Engineering team. You will lead and mentor junior engineers, driving the development of new functionalities for our GHG emissions visibility product. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about leveraging innovation and engineering practices to solve complex business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide junior engineers in developing new functionalities for our GHG emissions visibility product..
• Participate in the design and implementation of systems and data models to improve existing product features and introduce new ones.
• Integrate with third-party APIs for efficient ingestion of large datasets.
• Manage geospatial data effectively.
• Conduct data quality testing to ensure product reliability and accuracy.
• Apply your expertise across all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in a relevant domain.
• Proficiency in Python and strong object-oriented design skills.
• Knowledge of relational databases (standard and cloud-based), SQL.
• Familiarity with Linux based OS’s.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working with RESTful APIs or other Web Services.
• Prior experience in environmental sustainability or related fields is a plus.
