We are looking for an experienced C++ Software Developer to join our interdisciplinary Research & Development team and contribute to the development of high-performance scientific software for mass spectrometry data analysis. You will work closely with software engineers, scientists, product and project managers in a collaborative Agile environment to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable software solutions. Your work will focus on developing efficient data processing workflows, customer-facing visualizations, and software components that enable advanced scientific data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, stable, and efficient software using modern C++ best practices.
• Develop and optimize data processing workflows for mass spectrometry data analysis.
• Design and maintain customer-facing user interfaces and data visualizations.
• Scale and parallelize existing data processing workflows to improve performance and throughput.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and modular software architectures.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, applying unit and integration testing to ensure software quality.
• Optimize software performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile R&D environment with software engineers, scientists, and product teams.
• Apply modern software development workflows using Git, GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience developing software in modern C++ (C++20 or later preferred).
• Experience writing clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-quality C++ code.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming.
• Experience developing modular software systems.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborating within Agile development teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Good to Have

• Experience developing graphical user interfaces, preferably using Qt.
• Familiarity with CMake and/or ImGui or Qt.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with software testing frameworks and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Experience with scientific computing, data visualization, or analytical software.
• Knowledge of mass spectrometry data analysis or related scientific domains is considered a strong advantage.
