Head of Maintenance

Position: Head of Maintenance

Reports to: General Manager

Location: Santorini

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all Mechanical & Electrical equipment within the hotel / grounds.
• Responsible for Buildings and grounds.
• Upkeep of all operational equipment, including kitchens.
• Accountable for Safety & Security systems.
• Implementation of Fire Life & Safety (FLS) procedures.
• Operation of hotels fire alarm system, sprinklers, emergency lighting & generator.
• Supervision of engineering department personnel.
• Supervision of contractors.
• Allocation of duties to the appropriate engineering staff / contractors.
• Implementation of effective trouble reporting system.
• Implementation of effective planned maintenance system.
• Operation of the hotels BMS system.
• Procurement of spare parts and consumables.
• Administrative tasks including but not limited to reports, rotas, record keeping.
• Departmental training & development.
• Any other technical duties as laid down by the Management.
• Preparation of yearly budget for R&M expenses and CAPEX.
• Perform performance appraisals for technical personnel and participate in personnel recruitment.
• Control staff attendance and annual leave.
• Review and upgrade of all Hotel certificates

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or other related field studies.
• To be competent in the use of all hand tools and portable testing equipment.
• To be conversant with the operation of BMS systems.
• Must ensure a full working knowledge of all the hotels technical systems.
• Will be an active member of the hotel’s emergency team.

Qualifications:

• Should be computer literate, with BMS experience.
• Should be qualified in an engineering discipline.
• Should have previous supervisory experience in hotels.
• Must be able to take charge of the situation and work on own initiative with hands on mentality.
• Must be technically competent.
• Good Command of Greek & English language
